My Services

In my individual sessions, I offer both verbal and non-verbal (art psychotherapy) treatment. When a client first comes into therapy it is most important that the client feels safe. As this foundation is developed, a client has the option to choose what method to utilize on their journey. My goal is to make available both forms of these psychotherapeutic techniques to help improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of all individuals. It is my belief that both methods help individuals uncover unconscious feelings, resolve conflicts, increase self-awareness, and achieve insight.

As a Certified Group Psychotherapist, I believe in the healing power of the group process.

The group is a safe place where individuals come together to examine issues related to themselves and how they relate to others. During this voyage, individuals learn to recognize the curative factors of the group, The foundation of my work is based on the curative factors, Irvin D Yalom, The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy (4th edition) (Irvin D. Yalom) which are: I. Instillation of hope, 2. Universality, 3. Imparting information, 4. Altruism, 5. The corrective recapitulation of the primary family group, 6. Development of socialization techniques, 7. Imitative behavior, 8. Interpersonal learning, 9. Group Cohesiveness, 10., Catharsis, and  11. Existential factors. All of these aspects of group psychotherapy help members begin to slowly look at themselves and their roles in the world. Again, I incorporate both verbal and non-verbal techniques in group.

Non-verbal therapies include:

1. Art Therapy

2. Expressive Writing

3. PhotoTherapy / Therapeutic Photography

4. VideoTherapy / Therapeutic Filmmaking
